This ancient and historic Tudor barn was erected the year after Henry VIII died in 1548! That’s shortly after the Mary Rose sank in Portsmouth Harbour and before Mary I or Elizabeth I reigned. It’s also 30 years before Sir Francis Drake sailed round the world.
These days it is licensed for civil ceremonies as a wedding barn venue and is ‘home’ to many lovely weddings, parties, and occasions. Those that hire Pledgdon Barn can add their own decorative touches (and given access the day before their event, for decoration purposes) for lovely personalised results. If you’ve got ideas for the look of your dream wedding, this might be one of the only venues that will accommodate them and it’s ideal for rustic, hessian weddings or romantic barn decorations.
We have a team dedicated to making your event as magical, delicious and marvellous as you’d want it to be. We offer great attention to detail combined with lots of flexibility – so tell us your needs, wish list and criteria. We only work with 18 bridal couples per annum – that’s not many – and therefore you are not on a production line, there is only ONE EVENT PER WEEKEND and you have our full focus. If this sounds like a relationship you’d appreciate, you sound like our ideal client too! Please get in touch now.
